World-renowned designer Philippe Starck is back with another exclusive residential project for the yoo label, launched in December with developers Panchsil Realty.
Yoopune is the latest Asian development for leading design company yoo, and their first in India. Starck is one of five celebrated designers working for yoo, a company he co-founded with John Hitchcox in 1999. Referring to the yoopune development, Hitchcox defined it as “the embodiment of ‘yoo inspired by Starck’; which is about great design that ultimately helps people to live better.” The interiors embody a heady mix of contemporary design elements and bold styles in two themes – ‘Nature’ and ‘Classic’.
The 216 unique ‘yoo inspired by Starck’ designed homes each range in size from 5,000 to 6,500 square feet, spread over 6 towers –with penthouses suites also available. The development will also feature plenty of facilities including a Six Senses Spa, swimming pools, a yoga centre and plenty of recreation areas for families.
Scheduled for completion in 2014, yoopune is one of the costliest and most prestigious residential projects in India to date. Situated in Pune’s Koregaon Park Annex, the flats will share incredible views of the 17 acres of surrounding natural rainforest, with award winning landscape architect Bill Bensley brought on board for landscaping duties.
Combining a top design brand and prime location, it’s not hard to see why the flats are commanding prices upwards of US$ 2million. Those who will be calling yoopune ‘home’ will likely be affluent Indians living abroad in places such as Dubai, Hong Kong, Europe and the USA, using it as a base for their Indian visits and those who can recognise its great investment potential.
