Park Hyatt, Sanya Sunny Bay
Park Hyatt just unveiled its first beach resort! Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort on China’s Hainan Island aims to be the ultimate upscale beach getaway. Set among lush landscaping and next to Nan Hu Lake, the resort will comprise of six standalone, arch-shaped buildings, allowing chito flow between the ocean and mountains.
The modernist development has been designed by award-winning Belgian architect, Jean-Michael Gathy (see our interview with him here) who is also responsible for the renowned infinity pool in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore and multiple Aman resorts. Park Hyatt Sanya’s modern, elegant interiors are residential in style and offer guests a home away from home with panoramic beach and ocean views. Guests may also enjoy access to a private bay, five resort swimming pools, and eight food and beverage venues.
“This is an exceptional building and will be the most talked about Park Hyatt in the world. The project is dramatic, massive and really special. It is simply not just a small hotel on the beach but rather a major undertaking – architecturally it’s quite an exceptional statement”, comments Jean-Michel Gathy.
