Mexico City, Mexico
This equestrian estate in Mexico City, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Luis Barragán in 1968 is one of LOFT’s more unusual Homes of the Week. The sprawling estate features a main house, stables with a three-bedroom apartment, a two-bedroom guesthouse, and two L-shaped swimming pools, one for people and one for the horses! The horses enter their pool through two rectangular openings in a long, rose pink wall that Barragán scaled to the animals’ size. On the other side of the wall, hidden from the view from the main house, is the stable area and track. LOFT loves the dusty, minimialist design.
